SafeCloud European project ended with excellent assessment

On 27 September, it took place the third and final assessment by the European Commission on the SafeCloud project. With an investment of over EUR three million, this project focuses on the area of the infrastructures in the cloud, that despite its advantages, still present several challenges of safety, privacy and integrity in the data storage and processing.
The main goal of the project is to develop specific solutions that ensure the users of cloud computing services that both the storage and the processing of data are carried out in a completely secure and private way.

SafeCloud has an accepted paper in Middleware 2018

SafeCloud has a new paper accepted to the prestigious ACM/IFIP/USENIX International Middleware Conference 2018, which will be held in Rennes, France, from 10-14 December, 2018. The title of the paper is "RockFS: Cloud-backed File System Resilience to Client-Side Attacks".

SafeCloud is a success story for European Commission

The European project SafeCloud is one of the success stories of the EU funded project , as a part of the Horizon 2020 programme. The article entitled “Ensuring data privacy in the cloud” is available on the European Commission website and focuses on the cloud computing infrastructure and the privacy and security fears. It also mentions how the SafeCloud project is working with these areas.

Maxdata invited 100 professionals to assess the results of the European SafeCloud research project

Under the European project SafeCloud, Maxdata has invited more than 100 healthcare professionals in order to test the experimental pilot version of CLINIdATA with an innovative database system (SafeCloud Database), which ensures that all data processing and storage is carried out safely, thus not disclosing any sensitive, personal or business information to third parties.

Technology from SafeCloud project demonstrated in Tokyo

Last month, the SafeCloud project was presented to the CENTRA community, during the CENTRA 3 Meeting: Smart Cyberinfrastructure for Transnational Science. This meeting brings together international CENTRA researchers to review ongoing or new collaboration projects that require contributions from researchers and/or cyberinfrastructure from different countries.
The INESC TEC team that was in Tokyo also demonstrated the technology from the SafeCloud project.
