Hugues Mercier presented new results on epidemic dissemination at the ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing (PODC 2017) in Washington DC. The results are in an early stage, but the long term objective is to integrate them to very large distributed storage system such as those targeted by the SafeCloud consortium.
The article entitled “A Practical Framework for Privacy-Preserving NoSQL Databases” was accepted at the 36th IEEE International Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS 2017), an international conference classified with A by the well-know CORE ranking.
Dorian Burihabwa,from UniNE, presented today SafeFS as part of SafeCloud Project at EBSIS 2017 Summer School, which is being held in Timmendorfer Strand, Germany.

The European project SafeCloud was mentioned in L'Express, one of Swiss's newspapers. Valerio Schiavoni, from University of Neuchâtel, one of our partners in this project, was interviewed about the SafeCloud project. SafeCloud Photos, an application developed as part of SafeCloud, was also mentioned as an example of a safety app for photos.
Miguel Correia, from INESC-ID, one of our partners, presented their results of SafeCloud project last week in Sweden with two talks and seminars.
UniNE published a press release in French about the organization of the international conference DisCoTec 2017 . The conference is being organized at the University of Neuchâtel by SafeCloud researchers which are promoting the SafeCloud project.
The article entitled “SafeFS: A modular architecture for secure user-space file systems (one FUSE to rule them all)”, conceived as part of the European SafeCloud project, received the Best Student Paper Award in the 10th ACM International Systems and Storage Conference (Systor).
Hugues Mercier gave an invited talk and block lectures in Iasi, Romania, as part of the EBSIS project on April 25-26, 2017. Hugues Mercier is supervising the Master thesis of Mr Andrei Baran, a graduate student at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi in Romania. This collaboration is made possible by SafeCloud and the EBSIS project. Mr Baran is doing his master project on the storage aspects of SafeCloud and this topic was discussed in this invited talk.
